podiatry and orthotics by SOLE

gait scan at Sole podiatry footwear orthoses

Podiatry

Our feet are vulnerable to injury, overuse and are effected by many systemic diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and gout.

You can benefit from a consultation with us if you
suffer from:

Podiatry and orthotics for knees, toenails, lower back pain, sciatica, plantar fiscitis, etc

Equipment used to prescribe effective orthotic therapy

We utilise computer plantar pressure technology (TOG GaitScan™) to accurately assess your gait and prescribe the most appropriate and effective orthotic therapy.

Your foot is in contact with the ground for about .8 of a second when walking and about .25 seconds when running. The GaitScan™ system records your timing sequenced during gait as you walk or run across the pressure plate. This enables your practitioner to have a clear picture of your foot mechanics and determine whether you would benefit from wearing custom made foot orthotics.

All orthoses are manufactured on site, at SOLE, with the latest computerised milling technology.

Orthotics

Foot orthotics (orthoses) are used to treat a variety of foot and leg conditions, realign/address postural abnormalities (including lower back and pelvis position) and alleviate/redistribute pressure and force.

Typically orthotics are either functional (sports or custom) or accommodative (soft or diabetic) shoe inserts. At SOLE we prescribe and manufacture orthotics from a large variety of the latest materials from carbon fibre, EVAs or PEs depending on your individual needs.

Prefabricated Orthotics
now available

SOLE now offers prefabricated carbon fibre orthotics (orthoses). Carbon Fibre is thinner - to fit into your shoe easier, longer lasting and stronger than any other orthotic material.

Please call us on 07 3395 5300 with your shoe size to place your order.
